Jack Davis Launches Campaign for Congress

Challenges Opponents on Ethics, Social Security and Iraq

“I Believe in America and the American Worker.”

Akron, NY: Jack Davis, the President of I Squared R Element Company, launched his campaign for Congress here today citing his passion to revitalize American industry. Mr. Davis included in his announcement a series of pledges, challenging the other candidates to join him.

“I am a Marine who knows how to fight for his country, but I want this fight to be a clean one. I pledge to refuse campaign contributions from PACs or Washington lobbyists, and special interest money.

“I invite the other candidates in both parties to join me in this pledge. We must avoid the conflict created between big donations and good public policy and reject any gifts or campaign contributions from the very people who have wrecked our economy.

“The solution to most of these problems is simple – good paying jobs. If we protected our workers our families would be stronger, taxes would be lower, and Social Security would be solvent forever.”

“I invite both the Democrats and Republicans in this race to sign a pledge to fully fund the needs of veterans and their families. We must also pledge to force the next President to properly support our military and bring our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan soon and as safely as it can be done.” With expertise in manufacturing that spans 40 years, Jack Davis is on a mission to save jobs, farms and industries from government policies that have moved many American jobs out of the country, while undermining the ability of American workers to compete with low-wage earners in other countries and decimating the American middle class.

Married with 6 children and 13 grandchildren, Jack grew up in western New York and graduated from Amherst Central High School and from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering in 1955.

He spent time in the Marine Corp Reserves and served as a deck officer in the Coast Guard. He resigned from the Coast Guard Reserves as a Lieutenant in 1964. That year he founded the I Squared R Element Company Inc. which he still owns and manages. The company is located in Akron, New York and manufactures silicon carbide heating elements which are used in high temperature electric furnaces. It is now the only US owned plant making this product. He employs 75 western New Yorkers who earn on average wage of $25 per hour. His business is not for sale, is not outsourcing jobs, and is not importing heating elements.
